Have you ever wanted to cook without always having to rely on recipes? Wouldn’t it be freeing to just open your fridge and pantry, pull out “this and that” and whip up a healthy and flavorful meal on the fly? Think about how your grandmother would’ve cooked, which is probably through taste, smell, and feel. She would’ve used whatever bits and pieces were on hand and still been able to make a fabulous dish. That’s what it means to cook with intuition!
Because many of us are cooking a lot more at home these days, maybe even for every meal, I know it’s easy to fall into a recipe rut. Even I run out of ideas once in a while when trying to feed the family for the 3rd time that day. I want to help bring excitement and fresh inspiration back into your kitchen, because we could all use a little boost to keep the motivation going!
That’s why I’m excited to introduce our new Skillshare class called Kitchen Confidence: Practical Ways to Help You Cook with Intuition, and the best part is that you can watch for 2 weeks FREE no strings attached if you go through our referral link: https://link.chefjulieyoon.com/Skillshare1
Although Skillshare is a membership platform, you can sign up through our link and gain access to our class and the downloadable PDF with bonus information, tips, and tricks for 2 weeks absolutely FREE to help you on your way to help you gain confidence in the kitchen! Feel free to watch our class (multiple times even…we’d appreciate the minutes watched haha) and then browse other interesting classes if you wish, during your 2 week trial. You can cancel at any time. If you want to help us out directly, please use our referral link as opposed to going straight through Skillshare so that we can get the credit for it: https://link.chefjulieyoon.com/Skillshare1
And exciting news guys…this is our first Skillshare class, but it has recently been selected as a Staff Pick! WOOHOO! That means that we are being recognized for providing value, clear instruction, and actionable steps to our students. It’s currently being displayed under the “Featured Classes” section and I’ve also been asked to join their Teach Corp program. We are truly grateful to know that this class is making an impact in a positive way.
Why did we make this class? As you know, we’re YouTube veterans who have been sharing our recipes for the past 10 years (did you watch our 10 Years on YouTube video?), but I wanted to give you something MORE…access into my brain, to show you how I like to cook in everyday life. I like to be resourceful and push myself creatively to come up with dishes that are easy, exciting, and eventually make it into your dinner rotation!
So cooking with recipes first is really important when you’re a beginner cook. Recipes provide a framework from which you can start making tweaks and building upon. It also teaches you how to understand the science of measurements and various cooking techniques. Eventually these skills become second-nature and that’s how you begin to build your intuition. A few of the practical lessons I teach in our class are:
-
Take Inventory of Your Pantry
-
Shop Smartly
-
Make Food Taste Better
-
Sauce is Boss
-
Fix Your Mistakes
I also walk you through a recipe and then show you how I like to veer off of it. Don’t forget to download the PDF while you’re watching because we stuffed it full of valuable information such as ingredient substitutions, my favorite pantry staples, and tools you need to get started on your class project. Don’t be scared by the words “project” or “class.” The way Skillshare classes are designed are in easy-to-digest short videos that you can watch at your own pace. It’s up to you if you want to do the project and there’s no test afterwards! It’s like learning in a fun way.
If you watch, enjoy, and get value out of our class, do us a solid and leave us a review or discussion and also post a project. Let me know what your cooking style was like before taking the class. Did you already cook with intuition or did you rely solely on recipes? Let me know how your mentality has changed and what “aha” moments you got to help you on your cooking adventures.
Cooking with intuition is a journey and it will take time and practice to get a hang of it. But the more cooking you do, the easier this confidence will come. And then before you know it, you will be like me, where you can just rummage through your pantry, fridge, and freezer and come up with a concoction that actually tastes good and impresses yourself!
As you experiment, you will inevitably end up with some flops along with your masterpieces, but that’s okay too! I explain why making mistakes are okay and important to your learning journey. Trust me, you will remember those mistakes way more than your rockstar moments, and that will make you a better cook. I hope you enjoy the class because we put our hearts into it and it’s been something I’ve been wanting to share for a while. Sign up for your FREE 2 WEEK TRIAL here and let me know your thoughts. Would love your feedback, and also let me know what class you’d like to see from me next! Happy Cooking: https://link.chefjulieyoon.com/Skillshare1
