We already own a humidifier, but when Levoit contacted us asking if they could send us their Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier to review, I was intrigued. We only like to review products that will fit seamlessly into our daily lives, and being that it’s the winter and we’re dealing with constant congestion and dry skin around here, I was on board. The features for this super quiet humidifier include the large capacity tank, allowing 40 hours of use, a 360-degree nozzle (which allows you to point the steam in whatever direction you’d like), a built-in night light (which you can easily turn off), and a one-touch control button with three different mist settings!
But the real selling point for me was that it has the ability to diffuse essential oils! I always wanted an essential oil diffuser and now I have one in humidifier form! I’ve always received pointers from fellow moms in the past about diffusing lavender for Lincoln, to help him calm down before bed. I kind of wish I had this humidifier when he was still a baby and was dealing with the witching hour, which involved inexplicable crying sessions, and the inability to settle down to sleep well. Maybe it would’ve helped, but at least we have it now and can still use it going forward. In fact, that’s exactly what we’ve been doing daily!
In fact, ever since he was born, he had pretty bad congestion issues, so we would often turn on a humidifier for him in his room. That’s when we realized the importance of having a COOL MIST humidifier, because it helps his room not get too hot, especially when the door is closed, and when the heater is already on for the winter. But I LOVE the fact that we can now diffuse oils at the same time. We’ve been using it just in our living room for now, where we spend most of our time. In fact, I’m diffusing lavender right now even as I type this. Maybe it’s all in my head, but it does make me feel calmer, and I like that the air isn’t so dry. We’ve only had our humidifier for the last few days, but since it’s so easy to use, and the water tank lasts so long (1.1 gallons, or 4.5 L), I find myself turning it on every day, which just a swipe of the button.
