What I Got On Amazon Prime Day (Haul)

Don’t you just love snooping on other people’s loot? There’s a reason unboxing videos are so huge. We decided to do one of our own after we went a little nuts on Amazon Prime Day. What is that you ask? It’s a random day in the middle of the summer where Amazon holds a major sale on a bunch of items for a limited time, (and in limited quantities), in order to make crazy people like us spend all their money.  It’s a total “you snooze you lose” effect, and it forces you to feel like you better jump on this sale or you’ll miss out.

I will say that I think we were on a high while we stayed glued to our phones and kept looking for things we didn’t even know we needed in our lives, but when all is said in done, I’m glad we got what we did. Some of it was totally random and others were truly practical and things we were planning to purchase one day anyways, like our new collapsible wagon or bed sheets!  We’ve already been using some of these items and they’ve been pretty satisfactory.

I can’t sit here and exclaim that all of these items I’ll be sharing with you are fantastic, because we haven’t used them for a while yet. We’ll see if they stand up to the test of time. But we did do a little bit of research, take time to read reviews and look at how they were rated before we took the plunge. There was a bit of pressure while looking at the little bar indicator that showed how much percentage of the item was already claimed. When it got to about 90% claimed, we’d start sweating, read through the reviews faster, click purchase, and hope for the best!  Hope you have fun watching our reactions as we unbox our goodies. The items we mentioned in our video are linked below for your reference. Let me know if you want us to do another video later down the road, of our tested and approved Amazon favorites!

1. Queen Rose Full Body Pregnancy Pillow

This body pillow is something I really wanted and needed when I was pregnant with Lincoln.  During my pregnancy, I developed terrible sciatica (back and leg) pain, which I believe got worse due to not having this type of pillow to support my growing belly while I slept on my side. Even though I’m not pregnant now, we do plan on having another kid, so I guess buying this is sort of like wishful thinking…and hopefully my way of preventing myself from going through that kind of pain again!

2. DOSS Wireless Bluetooth Speaker

This little portable speaker is something Joe bought to connect with our Echo Dot. We play a lot of music for Lincoln, so we use it mostly for that.  It comes in different funky patterns like the one we got, but also in plain black if you want something more subtle. It can play up to 12 hours of music on the go without having to be recharged or plugged in, so this might be useful in the future if we end up using it outdoors for a future birthday party.

3. Echo Dot (2nd Generation) – Smart Speaker with Alexa

This Echo Dot (2nd Generation) is a hands free voice-controlled device, where you ask “Alexa” to play music, control smart devices in your home, or ask about the weather. We use it mostly to play music and to turn on/off our TV and lights.  I admit that I thought it was unnecessary to have at first, but it does make certain things more convenient and it’s kind of fun. Lincoln imitates me talking to Alexa all the time now… it’s super funny and cute!

4. TP-Link WiFi Range Extender

This is another “Joe buy” because he says that our hallway is too long and the WiFi connection gets weak all the way to the office.  It claims to have easy setup and flexible placement.  This is an example of something we may have not thought to purchase on our own if we didn’t see it pop up as a prime day deal, so we’ll see how it works over the test of time.

5. Tommee Tippee Closer To Nature Nighttime Pacifiers

We’re trying to wean Lincoln off of his pacifiers, but for now…that’s one losing battle.  He already owns this kind and loves it. They glow in the dark so they’re supposed to help soothe him to sleep and make it a little easier for him to find if they drop it in their crib in the middle of the night. The only thing I was annoyed about this listing was that the picture showed 6 pacifiers, but the description says it comes with 2, and you can’t select which colors and patterns you’d like. So just keep this in mind if you want to order these for yourself.

6. Poo-Pourri Before-You-Go Toilet Spray

We got a bottle of this as a housewarming gift from some friends a while ago.  At first we thought it was a gag gift, but it’s actually a great thing to keep in the guest bathroom.  It works pretty well and I think it’s better than air fresheners.

7. Essential Skin Solutions Microdermabrasian Facial Brush Set

I’ve been eyeing these kinds of facial brushes for a while, because ever since I delivered Lincoln, my skin has been going haywire and I feel like it could use some good exfoliation. There are a lot of spinning brushes out on the market and some are super expensive so I thought I’d give this a try for the price.  It has mixed reviews, but I think I’m willing to give it a go because the positive reviews seem really convincing.

8. Melissa & Doug Car Carrier Truck with 4 Wooden Cars

Lincoln loves his cars and gets especially fascinated when seeing car carriers driving by in real life.  Since I love Melissa & Doug wooden toys, I definitely wanted to get this one. It’s a car carrier with 4 wooden cars. That was a nice surprise for me because when I purchased this deal, I didn’t look too closely and I assumed it was just the car carrier itself and the cars on top were just for the picture…haha!  It will go well with the new Melissa & Doug road rug we got him.

9. Little Sleepy Head Toddler Pillow

This is something I didn’t even think Lincoln needed until I saw it come up as a deal. But he does seem about ready for a pillow because he always rests in his stroller with his hands behind his head!  He was also sick for a week and during that time, I saw him wanting to place his head on something. This one is supposed to be a good size and the right amount of firmness for a kid his age.

10. Little Sleepy Head Toddler Pillowcase

This pillowcase was also something that came up as a prime deal for this pattern. We were on the fence about it at first, but it’s actually pretty cute in person. Since it’s from the same brand as the pillow, it should fit perfectly.

11. Little Sleepy Head Toddler Pillow Protector

We were definitely hesitant of buying yet another thing to put on top of this little toddler pillow, but after thinking about it, we knew it would be practical to have some sort of protector to make the pillow more waterproof especially from sweat, drool, or a freak bloody nose in the middle of the night. This also allows you to not have to wash the actual pillow itself as often.

12. Gonex Packing Cubes

We already own packing cubes and it’s been a total game changer for me. I feel like somehow I can fit in more stuff and it stays organized especially when you’re looking for specific items.  I usually pack Lincoln’s and my stuff together in one suitcase when we travel, so this has allowed me to separate our items and find them quickly.  I ordered this set because I felt like you can never have enough!

13. KRUPS Spice and Coffee Grinder

It’s hard to believe that I didn’t already own a coffee / spice grinder because there have been many times where I felt like I needed one.  We got this mostly because of the French Press I already own and also for the Cold Brew Coffee maker Joe recently bought me as well. Now I can finally put them to use!

14. Takeya Deluxe Cold Brew Iced Coffee Maker

This is something Joe bought on a whim right before summer started but I hadn’t used it yet because I didn’t have a coffee grinder haha. We spend way too much money buying iced coffee when we’re out and it’s hot.  Cold brew is supposed to taste smooth and not bitter, while still being strong. I’m excited to finally try it.

15. Mellanni Brushed Microfiber Bed Sheet Set

This is embarrassing, but we hadn’t bought new bedsheets for over 10 years! It was time. These had great reviews, over 42,000!  So we took the plunge and got two sets (in two different colors) and we’re currently using one set now! They’re pretty good quality and soft, just like the reviews say.  I’m pretty surprised by the price.  We’ll see how they last over time.

16. ShowerShroom Drain Hair Catcher

Honestly, we probably needed something like this for years, because I shed like a monkey. We’ve both heard of this before so when we saw it pop up, we were both intrigued to get it.  Of course Joe put it in the cart right away…haha…I think he’s over having clogged drains.

17. ComfiLife Gel Seat Cushion

As embarrassing as this is, I’m using this cushion right now as I sit here to type this blog entry. I think it’s been helping with my tail bone pain, especially when I’m sitting for long hours to edit a video. I got it mostly because it claimed it helps with back pain, namely sciatica, so I was all over it.

18. Sorbus Foldable Storage Bag Organizers

I’m a sucker for anything that involves organization lately… possibly because our place is a hot mess. It comes as a set of 3, which are meant to be stackable, but I had visions of putting winter accessories in one, and using another to tidy up our coat closet.  The best part is that if I don’t end up needing all of them, I can easily fold them up and tuck them away.

19. Royal Hotel Down-Alternative Comforter

I’ve had my same ratty comforter since college and it was time to let it go, especially since feathers were flying out it!  I specifically wanted one that wasn’t too hot especially during the hotter months. This one is a down-alternative, with loops to attach to a duvet cover easily, and it’s supposed to be appropriate for all seasons, so we gave it a go!

20. Bonai 16 Pack Rechargeable Batteries

Because of Lincoln and all his battery-draining toys, we’ve switched over to rechargeable batteries. This 16-pack is not something we would normally remember to buy on our own, but when it came up as a prime deal, it caused us to jump on it.  I know we’ll put them to good use.

21. ElleSye Wireless Phone Charger Stand Pad

This was an item just for Joe because he has the iPhone X and wanted a wireless charging stand where he could prop up his phone. It seems to work pretty decently, and I could see how this would be more convenient.

22. Melissa & Doug Round the Town Road Rug with 4 Wooden Cars

This carpet is something I wanted for Lincoln and was upset about because I missed out on a previous deal.  So you can imagine how quickly I added this to my cart when I saw it on sale. It comes with 4 wooden cars and will be perfect for him to roll all his toy vehicles on top of in our limited space. The best part of this rug is that it can be rolled away and stored when not in use.

23. G-III Sports Team Sports Jacket

I thought this was funny when Joe unboxed this item because I had no idea he sneakily purchased this!  But I have to say, just by looking at it and touching it, it does seem like decent quality and fit, especially for the price.  Any kind of gear with team sports logos are usually so expensive, and Joe is a Chicago Bears fan, so I’m glad he got this jacket when he did.

24. Enovoe Magnetic Cabinet Locks

We already baby proofed some of our cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom, but I do admit that I don’t like fumbling with the locks, so sometimes I don’t even bother using them! But it’s super important to baby proof cabinets that contain dangerous chemicals or items, so we thought we’d try these magnetic kinds.  It’s supposed to be more convenient to use because it comes with 2 keys that you use to unlock them, and you don’t have to worry about removing or adjusting the locks themselves.  It’s supposed to be easy installation with no drilling necessary too, so we’re going to give it a whirl.

25. Mac Sports Collapsible Utility Wagon

I’ve been wanting a wagon like this ever since I talked to some of my friends on the 4th of July and they raved about how convenient it is when you have young kids.  Not only do they use it to cart around all their items, but toddlers can nap inside it when they’re outdoors at a soccer game or the park.  That was the selling point for me, and I do love how it’s collapsible so you can fold it up pretty small and leave it in your trunk!

26. Yesker Stainless Steel Pineapple Corer

I’m not a huge one-function kitchen gadget person, but I couldn’t resist buying this pineapple corer after reading the reviews and seeing the bargain sale price.  It seemed like it does a great job without a lot of waste.  I always thought these kinds of things would leave a ton of pineapple behind, but it doesn’t seem like the case according to the reviews. I haven’t tested it out for myself yet, but I am excited to go and buy a pineapple now!  If it works well, I’d totally be willing to include this in a video.

27. Floureon Condenser Microphone Set

This microphone set isn’t necessarily something we absolutely needed since we already have microphones for recording videos, but it does make it convenient to do voiceovers or pod casts because of the arm set up.  It makes me feel like we’re in a recording studio and we’re about to make an album!  Joe couldn’t pass up the deal because he thought it was a decent amount of items for the price.
