We filmed this episode the same week as our lasagna recipe, where I shared with you in our last behind the scenes that I was feeling bummed. But thankfully this day I took the advice of Taylor Swift and decided to “shake it off.” Sometimes you just need the sad or bad days to help you hit the pause button and think about what’s really going on in your life.
If you want to know more, I share my thoughts and take you along with us as we shoot our Chicken Teriyaki episode. You can come behind the scenes and enjoy some bloopers from this episode in our video below:

This was one of our faster video shoots of the whole season. The recipe itself is super quick, and I omitted a lot of the “showing the prep in front of the camera” parts. These days… I dunno… I’m feeling like I don’t need to be so detailed. But if you enjoy all those chopping and prepping scenes, let me know in the comments below.
But then the photoshoot is what took us FOREVER to do. We were pretty exhausted after it was over because we were so busy chasing and bouncing the natural sunlight. And by sunlight, I actually mean non-existent sunlight covered by clouds. Food photography in the winter is not fun.
But thankfully, we still managed to walk away with a few good images in the end.
Truth be told, at this point, I think we’re both running low on energy. I’ve even had friends comment on the fact that it seems like we’re working on double the speed of Season 1…and they’re right! In fact, we only have a few episodes left until the end of Season 2, and then maybe we can take a proper break. I’m hoping that this will help us to feel refreshed and renewed so we can continue to come back with more tasty bites for you!
