This was us when we felt successful because we had mastered the art of giving Lincoln a sponge bath. Because his umbilical cord isn’t completely dried yet, we’re not allowed to submerge him in water. The first time we did it, he was screaming bloody murder and freaking out because he was cold and we were just blotting him with damp towels. The second time, we wised up and used a space heater and more coordinated teamwork.
He was completely fine and we felt like we accomplished something huge. I think it’s because we realized that taking care of our baby was more instinctive and manageable than we thought. Also, you live and learn. Our lives are pretty much this right now. One day soon we hope to get back in the swing of things with our YouTube channel and everything else.
