First of all, I just like the name of this box. Yes, I’m a sucker for alliteration and good marketing. I was at Trader Joe’s with my friend, Ashley, where I was looking for my usual chocolate croissants. But this cute box with simple design caught my eye and I went to go pick it up. Ashley came over to me and said, “oh they’re really good…I’ve tried them before.” Sold. Did I tell you I also get easily influenced by my friends?
I went home and tried a cookie, and so did Joe. Yum! I was surprised at how soft it was. I would say it’s more soft than chewy, because when you say chewy, I expect it to have a true bite and stretch to it, like when you bake them yourself. That wasn’t the case. But I was still quite charmed.
They’re not overly sweet, and they’re made with no artificial ingredients, colors, or preservatives. But don’t worry, they surprisingly stay soft for a long time. However, I would say they’re not necessarily as “moist” as the box promises, but it’s okay, they’re still soft and tasty, not crumbly and dry.
These little guys are small. In fact, I amused myself with this picture. They’re exactly the same size as the photo on the box. But if you savor each bite, and chew slowly, you don’t really need more than one… okay, maybe two. But you better watch yourself because they are also kinda fatty. Moderation is the key.
And of course, like any cookie, they’re great with a glass of milk, or a cup of piping hot coffee.
So in conclusion, I say when you’re in the mood for something sweet that’s in between the texture of a cookie and a piece of a cake, these guys are the perfect little snikkedy snack.
