This is my second time being featured in kokoliving.com‘s online magazine, and it is truly an honor to snag a spot again. Last month, I wrote an article about “Julie’s Top 10 Tips for Summer Entertaining.” This month, I was asked to come up with a good lunch time idea for their “back to school” section.
Kokoliving.com focuses mainly on Korean American women doing their thing, but you definitely don’t have to be Korean to read it. I often guest blog for them, although eeks… I haven’t been so diligent about that lately. My bad. They have developed an e-magazine which you can read on their site. But I thought it would be fun to give you a look inside of their magazine, in case you haven’t already subscribed.
This is the cover of the August/ September issue. Look, whose name and article made the cover! Decided to circle and point a bunch of arrows at it just so you wouldn’t miss it.
Here is the editor and the rest of the contributors. They are the core team that make up kokoliving.
This issue features awesomely talented people such as Shin Choi, New York City based fashion designer…
And Marja Vongerichten of the PBS TV show Kimchi Chronicles. If you have been waiting around for a cooking show that showcased Korean cuisine to be on television, now is the time. Check it out.
And amongst all that talent, is my colorfully laid out two pager. For my “back to school” article, I decided to make an easy and healthy American style “bento box.” I played off of the idea of keeping all the snacks in separate little portions, and making a “mock maki” out of classic sandwich ingredients. The best part is that you don’t even need anything special. Just grab a piece of tupperware and some cupcake wrappers. You can read the full article in the magazine by going to kokoliving.com.
I love the idea of an e-magazine and I’m thankful to be part of one two times in a row. A big thanks to kokoliving.com for allowing me to feel like a fancy pants writer, and for giving me a spot for the second time in their magazine. Be sure to check it out and support my online buddies!
