Today my little nephew Hyden Mathieu Ahn made a grand entrance to this world at 7lbs 4oz. He was fashionably late from his original due date, which made his mom a little cranky, but still arrived in the end without much fuss.
What a happy and sad day it was. I was so thrilled to hear the news and see his picture this morning, which unexpectedly brought tears to my eyes, but I was so sad I couldn’t be there in person to hold him and celebrate his arrival. I guess that just comes with living on the other side of the country from the rest of my family.
We couldn’t fly out because Joe and I were JUST there for the holidays, my sister’s baby shower and in time for Joe to take these maternity photos of them.
I like how in this picture you can actually FEEL the anticipation of my sister as she looks at the crib… and now he’s here. Unreal. It still didn’t quite hit me yet since I didn’t get to see him in person, but I know I already love him.
This is the first baby of my side of the family and I am so excited for my big sister, Christina and her husband Dan. I cannot WAIT for the chance to go and meet the little chicken nugget.
