a double birthday surprise

a double birthday surprise

Sneaky friends Matt and Susanne wanted to plan something special for the birthdays of their spouses, Linda and Rob. So they joined forces and hired me to help them throw a cooking class birthday bonanza. It was pretty easy to fool their other halves since they’re all part of a little group of friends who always meet up for dinner anyways. So they told them to get in the car and made their way to their friend Jamie’s lovely house. [...]

a birthday surprise

a birthday surprise

Alice decided to throw her sister, Sarah, a surprise cooking class for her birthday, which I thought was a genius idea. They told us that on the way over to our humble abode, Sarah kept guessing where she thought Alice might be taking her.

At one point she guessed, “is it a cooking class?” Alice was swift enough to flat out lie with a straight-faced, “no.” Haha… so of course Sarah was extra surprised to walk into some stranger’s home and see this set up. [...]

an asian fusion cooking class

To celebrate Carol’s birthday, she contacted me to see if I could host a cooking party for her and her friends. We met at Starbucks and got down to business. Very quickly we decided the theme would be “Asian-Fusion.” Why am I not surprised?

It all started out when John went to the doctor and was told he had to lower his intake on salt, carbs, fat, and sugar (aka “flavor”) in all his food or else he’d have to go on medication. [...]

I got in trouble with Joe because he took all the pictures for this entry and I kept hounding and HOUNDING him to edit and upload them so i could post them on the blog. When he finally got around to them, I suddenly became busy and let this blog entry go for days.

I probably could have gone a few more days before buckling down to blog about it, but then I got caught red-handed because he got impatient with me and blogged about it himself on his blog. Then he wrote that everyone should go to my blog for the details. [...]

learning to cook easy meals

learning to cook easy meals

A couple months back, I ran a cooking class as an alternative to a bachelorette party. Two of the students there were friends, Kim and Jane. They joked about being the most attentive students of the class, and they really enjoyed the experience. Therefore, they decided to host their own group cooking class with their friends at Kim’s mom’s house.

The house was beautiful and the kitchen was awesome… perfect for a cooking class, complete with a great island and lots of seating. We co-designed a seasonal menu which showcased healthy, delicious dishes that take no time at all to prepare. [...]
