Um, yeah. I came up with this recipe over a year ago, and we filmed this video while we were still living in our old place. Down the street from us was a Farmer’s Market. That’s where we were when I spotted a big bundle of fresh dill. This feathery fragrant herb was what inspired me to make this recipe in the first place.
Dill is most abundantly available around the Summer time, but don’t worry my friends. You can still make this recipe right now because I was recently at the grocery store and saw that they’re still selling it. But just in case they’re not, and you really want to give this recipe a try now, you can use dried dill, but cut the measurement for it in half since dried herbs are always more potent.
I’m definitely a fan of “smart cooking,” which really is a nicer way of saying, “lazy cooking.” I figure if I’m going to make a marinade, I might as well scoop out a little of it BEFORE the chicken hits it, and use it as a dressing too. Why not? Maximum flavor with minimum effort. [...]
So guess what. I was asked by Bee from Rasa Malaysia to guest blog on her site for the day. This happened after my blog friend, Eating and Living was featured, and then it somehow led to me being featured as well! And this ain’t no small beans people. Bee is a big time blogger, professional recipe developer, and cookbook author.
Her book, “Easy Chinese Recipes” is available worldwide and is currently the #1 best selling Chinese cookbook on Amazon. As a recipe developer, Bee works with brands such as Mizkan America, WorldFoods, Betty Crocker, INSING.com, and more. And with 2.5 million page views per month, Rasa Malaysia is the biggest independent Asian recipes site on the Internet… ummm….crazy!
Marriage is all about compromise. Shortly after getting married, I soon realized that my husband is not a fan of “sauce-less” pastas, which means, he doesn’t like pasta that isn’t smothered in a red sauce. For me, I tend to like pastas that are gently kissed with garlic and olive oil, and taste “light.” He thinks that means it tastes “bland.” So to be a nice wife, I tried to only make pastas that included at least some kind of tomato. After the third year, I finally decided he was missing out and it was his time to compromise!
I slowly started to introduce flavors that didn’t taste like it came from a jar of “Ragu.” But I wanted to be mindful of the fact that light sauces taste bland to him, so I started playing with simple ingredients that would still make a major impact. [...]
Oh yes, I filmed a video about what I bought at Trader Joe’s. I saw on youtube that people were doing video blogs about “fashion hauls” and “makeup hauls,” for the sheer purpose of showing everyone what they bought at their favorite stores. As much as I adore clothes, the current Yoon budget doesn’t allow for me to purchase much fancy gear for myself right now, so I decided I would just show you what I bought at one of my favorite grocery stores!
My friends can all let out a sigh of relief, because today, they are off the hook. I didn’t include anyone in this video except myself. It’s a quick one, but it gets the job done. I’ve grown an appreciation for Trader Joe’s over the last couple of years. I don’t really know why, but it just makes me happy every time I’m in there. Maybe it’s because it has that “small town neighborhood grocery store” feel to it, or maybe it’s because my husband’s name is Joe… but in any case, just as much as I love Costco, I love Trader Joe’s! [...]
I love me a light, fresh, and healthy salad any day. Check out my jicama, fennel, and green apple slaw or watch our orange and honey steak salad video. But there are those moments when you want a salad to feel hearty and satisfying too, right? No? Is it just me? Anyways, you may have seen my video blog about my dinner at Pizzeria Mozza with my friends. At Mario Batali’s new restaurant in Newport Beach, we dined on delicious pizzas, but also this amazing salami-laden zesty salad, called “Nancy’s Chopped Salad.” It was truly an eye-opener.
It’s basically a good antipasto salad, but all chopped up and thrown together beautifully. Now, I am a big fan of tasting something at a restaurant and then trying to mimic it at home, my own way. Well let me just say, I made this salad for 4, and we killed that bad boy in an instant. Everyone agreed it was tasty, fresh, and hearty, yet somehow still light! This would be a perfect side dish to your pizza or pasta, or a great first course. We happened to eat it for our main meal for lunch, along with some roasted garlic bread, and it was perfection. [...]
Judging by this fuzzy, dark, and unflattering freeze frame, you might think this is a video about me thoroughly enjoying some pizza. And you’re right! My friends and I went to Pizzeria Mozza, Mario Batali’s new restaurant in Newport Beach, located in Orange County, CA. We wanted to check it out and see if it really was all the rage. Of course I had to bust out my trusty video camera, which naturally made my friends vow that they would never invite me out to dinner again. But they always say that… and what do you know, after a few minutes, they turned all loosey goosey, and fully participated in my “review.” [...]
